BCCI will be shown security plans for World Cup, says ICC chairman Shashank Manohar

first_imgInternational Cricket Council chairman Shashank Manohar has assured the Board of Control for Cricket in India that security will be the top priority for the governing body at the Cricket World Cup in England and Wales.The BCCI had written a letter to the ICC on Friday in which it had expressed concerns over the safety of Indian players, support staff and the fans, among other points, who will be attending the showpiece event in May.Manohar confirmed on Saturday that the ICC has received the Indian cricket board’s letter and in response to it he said that the BCCI will be shown the security plans that are going to be in place for the tournament.”I have received the BCCI’s letter. Security has, and always will be, the top priority of the ICC. When the ICC (board members) meet in Dubai on March 2, we will show the BCCI all the security plans which have been put in place for the World Cup,” Manohar was quoted as saying by Times of India.”They can satisfy themselves over the arrangements for the World Cup.
