Patriots to face Eagles in Super Bowl LII

first_imgELLSWORTH — The New England Patriots will attempt to win their third NFL championship in four seasons and sixth overall when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII on Feb. 4.New England (15-3) clinched a berth in the game in Sunday’s AFC championship game when it came back from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars (12-7) 24-20. Tom Brady completed 26 of 38 passes for 290 yards and two touchdowns in the win.Later Sunday evening, Philadelphia (15-3) defeated the Minnesota Vikings (14-4) 38-7 to win the NFC crown. Quarterback Nick Foles threw for 352 yards and three touchdowns, and the Eagles’ defense forced three turnovers and held the Vikings to just 70 rushing yards.The Super Bowl showdown will be a rematch of Super Bowl XXXIX on Feb. 6, 2005, which the Patriots won 24-21.
